Since its founding in 1967, MCN (Museum Computer Network, Inc.) has been a community-driven organization. MCN’s community is its greatest strength, which, if channeled effectively, can be a powerful force to help the organization achieve its goals. MCN’s accomplishments would not be possible without the support of a small army of highly dedicated and talented volunteers. Consequently, we aim to offer ample opportunities to identify, connect with, and involve all who want to contribute.

Because MCN relies so heavily on members of the community to accomplish its mission, many volunteer roles require specific qualifications and experience, and a very high commitment level. In addition to a considerable time investment, volunteers are often expected to produce various sets of deliverables not unlike what would be expected from a staff. The very nature of such demands requires volunteers to have a clear understanding of their role, responsibilities and expectations. This Agreement serves that purpose.

MCN has high expectations for our volunteers. We need support and diligence from our community members to ensure the organization can continue to grow and develop. At the same time, we endeavor to create and provide volunteer opportunities that meet our mission and are designed to grow and foster our members’ professional development.
